The board of Women in Film & Video/New England meets once a month. WIFV/NE’s board is a ‘working board’ and members serve two-year terms. Responsibilities of the board include serving as ‘ambassadors’ for WIFV/NE by attending industry events and making contacts with other community organizations; serving on committees, including a Programming Committee, Fundraising Committee, Screenwriting Event Committee; and working as a team to accomplish the goals of the organization. Juliet Schneider, Interim President – Juliet is a freelance animator, production designer, and owner of Iridium Productions, based in the Boston area. She has an MFA in Video/Multimedia, from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She also holds a BFA in General Fine Art, from Maryland Institute College of Art. Juliet has taught fine art, video production, and computer graphics at USES, The Children’s Art Centre, Fletcher-Maynard Academy, CCTV, MATV, and Bradford College. Joan Meister – Joan is Head of Production and Co-Owner of Hero4Hire Creative, a full service commercial animation and production studio in the heart of historic South Boston. Working with clients such as Cartoon Network, Staples, and PBS Joan crusades for the highest level of creativity on all productions. In addition to her duties on the WIFVNE Board, Joan is a member of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers and the Mass Production Coalition. Shannon Mullen, WIFVNE Writer/Blogger – Shannon is a producer and founder of Broad Reach Productions. She recently worked as an Assistant Director on the independent feature GIRLFRIEND and is now developing two feature projects of her own. Amy Appleton - Amy is a senior visual effects producer at Brickyard VFX, based on Newbury Street in Boston. After earning her master’s degree from Emerson College, she post produced throughout the Boston market. At Brickyard, she focuses on producing visual effects for commercials and films. Amy works with many top brands, and has produced multiple international broadcast campaigns. She also enjoys producing side projects, such as music videos and independent films. amy@brickyardvfx.com
Shannon Vossler - Shannon Vossler is a Development Producer at Powderhouse Productions in Somerville, with a B.S. in Film and Television and a B.A. in Psychology from Boston University. Breathing life into non-fiction formats and sculpting regular folks into reality superstars is all part of her daily routine, as she creates television series for major cable networks like Animal Planet, Discovery and History. When she’s not writing on her walls or running around a set or locked away in an edit suite, she’s on a mission to streamline the creative process and innovate fun ways to generate groundbreaking new ideas. shannonvossler@womeninfilmvideo.org
Susan Bryant – Susan is a sound recordist with a background in managing educational and sustainability projects in the US and Africa, Susan Bryant joined Frontrunner, a documentary about Afghan women leading their country back from chaos, as Associate Producer. Since then she has jumped into a variety of shoots as the “Scampering Soundie,” joining covered wagon trains, Lakota prairie rides, Coast Guard adventures, girls’ leadership institutes, international womens’ meetings, anti-apartheid theatres, centers for African knowledge, indie narratives and others. She brought DP Gary Griffin’s Listopad project to the Sundance Independent Producers Conference, and is creative producer for Bryan Horch’s Sensational Life and co-producer for Jeff Reichert’s Gerrymandering (Tribeca 2010). susan@womeninfilmvideo.org
