The DocYard

If you didn’t catch the Boston media blitz around their recent screening of Philosophers Kings, you know now that every other Monday night at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge this summer The DocYard is where it’s at. Presenting award winning documentary films and the people who made them, each screening is unique and informative.

The idea for the series started out over drinks between Camden International Film Festival Director Ben Fowlie, Sara Archambault of the LEF Foundation and Sean Flynn of Principle Pictures.

“Lots of filmmakers and film students have approached us during the DocYard events to tell us that this is something the Boston film community has needed for years,” says Sean Flynn of Principle Pictures. “We’re very confident that the series is filling a void and that it will help weave together a stronger local film community as it continues to grow.”

Flynn awaited forward the screening of local legend Fred Wiseman’s “Hospital” on July 17, which turned out the Boston film community.

“Last Train Home” September 13 is another one Flynn urges everyone see.
