Creating the Right Business Structure for Your Film | A Women Make Movies Webinar

  • 19 Oct 2022
  • 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
  • online

You’re making a film – should you set up an LLC? Should it be an S Corp, a C Corp, or a sole proprietorship? Do you need an EIN? Answering these questions and more is all part of choosing a business structure for your film production. And the choices you make will affect the amount you pay in taxes, your ability to raise money, what paperwork you need to file, and your liability. Seasoned entertainment lawyer Laverne Berry, with experience in both fiction and nonfiction projects, will walk us through the different business structures and what they entail, as well a step-by-step process of setting up your production company.

This is the first session in a four-part webinar series: The Business of Film Production
