Come to the Kendall Square Cinema to see the feature film LOSING CONTROL on Saturday, April 7, 2011 at 7pm. (Watch the trailer here.)
We’re proud to co-present the film along with The Independent, a print and online source of information for indie, grassroots and activist media-makers.
LOSING CONTROL is a quirky romantic comedy about a female scientist who wants proof that her boyfriend is “the one”.
The film was written and directed by Valerie Weiss, who started her film career in New England while earning her PhD in Biophysics from Harvard Medical School.
After defending her thesis Valerie left Boston and moved to Los Angeles, where she attended the American Film Institute’s prestigious and highly competitive Directing Workshop for Women.
She wrote the screenplay for LOSING CONTROL, her first feature, and returned to Boston to shoot it.
We’re excited that Valerie is in town for the film’s Boston-area screenings, and following the 7pm show on 4/7 she’ll hold a Q&A session in the theater.
She can speak from experience about the entire filmmaking process from script to screen, including raising her own production financing and securing theatrical distribution. Don’t miss this opportunity to ask a fellow woman in film your burning questions about pretty much any aspect of the business.
After the Q&A, as an exclusive perk for our members and subscribers of The Independent, Valerie will mingle with us over coffee or cocktails in a more intimate setting nearby (location TBD).
We hope to see you Saturday 4/7!
