Meet the Industry: POV and America ReFramed | A Women Make Movies Webinar

  • March 16, 2022
  • 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
  • online

American Documentary (AmDoc) is the home for POV, television’s longest-running showcase for independent non-fiction films. POV premieres 14-16 of the best, boldest, and most innovative programs every year on PBS. POV films are known for their intimacy, their unforgettable storytelling, and their timeliness, putting a human face on contemporary social issues. POV films have won 38 Emmys, 22 Peabodys, 14 duPonts, 3 Oscars, and many more. Recent award-winning films include Cecilia Aldarondo’s LANDFALL, Michèle Stephenson’s STATELESS, Angelo Minax Madsen’s NORTH BY CURRENT, David Osit’s MAYOR, Loira Limbal’s THROUGH THE NIGHT, and Sam Soko’s SOFTIE, the last two having just won Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards.

AmDoc executive produces and programs America ReFramed, a documentary strand that brings to national audiences stories of an ever-changing America. Adding to this impressive portfolio of content, AmDoc also a digital strand for short films.

We are thrilled to be joined by still new Executive Director/Executive Producer Erika Dilday -- an award-winning producer herself and former Executive Director of the Maysles Documentary Center -- plus some surprise guests from her team in a very special webinar to break out all aspects of American Documentary and how you can work with them. They'll discuss what they look for, how to pitch content, and when they get involved in projects. Bring your questions to this wide-ranging conversation and find out how to get your film –- be it short, feature, digital, you name it –- on one of their award-winning strands!

Women Make Movies is offering WIFVNE members a discounted ticket price of $20.
