PRESIDENT'S STATEMENT

Welcome Members and Friends of Women in Film & Video New England.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about WIFVNE and our mission to champion and advance the careers of women in the screen industries. The history of our organization dates back 44 years and in that time WIFVNE has evolved and transformed its mission to meet the ever changing and current times.

Our mission is to advance the professional development of female and underrecognized voices in the screen industries by widening the lens. This means to open the aperture by providing more professional opportunities, showcasing, supporting and advocating for all our members in achieving equal opportunity, pay and representation regardless of gender identity, orientation, race, age, abilities, religion or culture.

This mission cannot be accomplished without the wisdom, drive, and ambition of our Board of Directors and Board of Advisors. Thank you for contributing your time, passion, and knowledge to help move this organization forward in a manner that advances, advocates, and promotes parity for all screen industries.

To our Members, thank you for being part of this growing and diverse organization. Your voice and talents contribute to the mission and direction of this organization. We learn so much from you, your feedback and your needs. Connections and collaborations are key to our work at WIFVNE. Your involvement in the WIFVNE community matters.

If you aren’t a WIFVNE Member, I hope you will consider joining us to share your needs, your talents, expand your network, learn some new things, contribute to the direction of this organization and advance your professional goals in the screen industries. Membership is open to all who support our mission.

I believe we can do anything together.

SHARON CONTILLO, President
