Meet the Funder: Sundance Documentary Film Program| A WMM Webinar

The Sundance Documentary Film Program supports non-fiction filmmakers in the production of cinematic documentaries on contemporary themes through funding and labs. Recent projects include Nicole Newnham and Jim LeBrecht’s Crip Camp; Maite Alberdi’s The Mole Agent; Jacqueline Olive’s Always in Season; Maia Lekow and Chris King’s The Letter, Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar’s American Factory; Petra Costa’s The Edge of Democracy and many, many more. Sundance grants projects in development, production, post-production, and impact from all around the world. Along with funding, labs, and fellowships, their support often leads to getting further funding from other film grants and foundations.

Carrie is an award-winning filmmaker and journalist who previously was the Director of Grants at the International Documentary Association and created the Enterprise Documentary Fund during her tenure. She joins us for an in-depth discussion about the evolution of the Sundance Documentary Program, who’s who on her team, how the program has changed, how it intersects with other programs at the Institute and the Sundance Film Festival, and, most importantly, how you can take advantage of all that the Sundance Documentary Program has to offer.
