What do you need to know to get that first job on a film set? Do you know how to properly wrap a cable? Fly in a pancake? Or lock up a set? When should you expect to be paid and how much? Review set safety concerns to protect yourself and other crew members.
In this presentation and hands-on workshop, WIFVNE President Emerita and Line Producer Alecia Orsini walks you through some of the lingo, gear, safety procedures, and best practices for becoming a production assistant. Plus! WIFVNE member and Talamas rental Tech Scott Lebeda, who is also a union camera operator who worked on the Academy Award-winning CODA, assists with the workshop and is ready to answer all your questions!
Wear comfortable clothing so you are ready for the hands-on activities. And bring your business cards because connections today can be collaborators tomorrow. Pay as you can.
